Day 28

10 LOLz:

10. Everyone looks to same here. They all have to have to same bags and shoes and earrings. The weird part is they are those sequin strap totes everyone had in like 9th grade, and cowboy boots, and giant hoop earrings. I'm sorry, but I'm pretty sure it's not 2002 anymore.

9. The goth kids are so amazing. They all wear ridiculous platform doc marten looking shoes and as much jewelry and eyeliner as possible. I saw this one on the bus with a skull shaped backpack that said "KILL YOU" on the forehead in red print.

8. People roller-BLADE here. There is quite the following really. They have brightly colored shoes and laces and long hair and are "punky" or something I guess.

7. Going out and seeing people who haven't quite finished going through puberty being drunk messes everywhere. It's especially funny when they are all in a night club together. It's not so funny when you feel like the oldest person around.

6. The bus drivers don't make sure you pay for the bus. There is a separate job, "un agent de validation," that makes sure you pay. These guys go around in groups of 5 and then check everyone's validation on the bus/tram, but they don't go around everyday, and don't go on every bus line or tram, so it's possible that you would never see them and could get away with never paying for any public transportation. The job was also created by the government for people who aren't employed otherwise, and they can often be seen coming out of cafes or chillin in the back of buses.

5. People don't pick up their dog's poop. It is every where, all the time. I think the only reason it doesn't smell so bad is because it rains a lot. But that just makes it so gross. And doggie-bags are very accessible; they just don't do it. You really have to watch where you are walking.

4. Some of the buses are made by Mercedes-Benz.

Proof:
You always know it's going to be a good day when you get a Mercedes bus. They are the best. Bigger seats, nicer ride. The buses also have hydraulics. I don't know if that is normal or not, but it's still funny.

3. Lady Marmalade is still a favorite.

2. My roommates and I named our landlord "Madame Zaza" because she is crazy. We actually talked so much shit on her tonight at our 3-hour long dinner. They are really awesome. And don't make fun of me too much.

1. Best Euro-trash-faux-mexi sighting: White French guy wearing really tight, shiny, silver/gray jeans,  pointed-toe cowboy-esque boots, with a fitted camel-brown leather bomber jacket. With of course a man-purse/satchel configuration and, to top it all off, a black fedora with a scarf tied around the brim, a-floating in the wind. It was beautiful.

In other news: Real classes start Tuesday! (I have 4-day weekends!!!)

WHUT, I have to take classes here???!!!?
